"the kiss"! It could not be otherwise for these little sweets, the baci di dama, so called precisely because the two halves of the biscuit are held together by a veil of chocolate, like two mouths intent on giving each other a very sweet kiss. Who does not know and has never had the opportunity to taste these sweets originating from the city of Tortona, in Piedmont? At the beginning baci di dama were made with hazelnuts, easier to find and cheaper than almonds, later introduced by Tortonese pastry chefs to perfect the recipe. However, there are versions with almonds and hazelnuts or only with almonds, as the master Luciano Aprile suggests. The result will be crumbly and delicious biscuits... and just like real kisses, one leads to another! What do you think?
